Ear Cropping

Ear cropping is a very controversial practice.  We at Great Lakes Veterinary Clinic understand the sensitivity of this issue. Until the show ring accepts the dogs natural look, our breeders will need to have their show dog’s ears cropped in order to promote the other excellent qualities of their breeding program.  Therefore, when we need to perform an ear crop, we do our very best to minimize pain and discomfort.  We do not promote ear cropping but understand the current (hopefully temporary) need.
