Orthopedics

Orthopedic surgery can be very difficult and complications are common.  For this reason several general practice clinics refer all or most orthopedic surgeries to specialty or referral practices.  We at Great Lakes Veterinary Clinic enjoy meeting the challenge of many of the orthopedic conditions that our patients experience.  Some of the orthopedic conditions that we correct here at Great Lakes Veterinary Clinic include; fractures (bone plates, pins and wires, extraskelital fixation and casting), cruciate ligament tears, osteochondrosis of the shoulder, amputations.  However, occasionally there will be surgeries that we do not feel comfortable attempting and we will request that you seek the services of a board certified orthopedic surgeon to ensure the best possible outcome.
