Wellness Services
Great Lakes Veterinary Clinic offers a full range of medical services for your pet, from wellness exams and vaccinations to Surgical procedures and pain management therapy

Wellness exams
An annual physical exam is essential in keeping your pet healthy. Annual exams can help prevent medical problems before they become life threatening, and can also give your veterinarian a clearer picture of your pet's health. Senior pets may require  more frequent check-ups. If your pet is exhibiting any unusual behaviors or symptoms, we recommend you schedule an appointment with a veterinarian immediately.

Dental care
Proper dental care is a large part of keeping your pet healthy. Regular teeth cleanings and dental check-ups can prevent periodontal disease (disease of the gums and supporting tissue of the teeth) and other dental problems before they affect your pet's overall health.

Surgeries
Elective surgery requires a physical examination the day of the surgery. It is necessary to withhold all food the night before the surgery. All pets are required to be current on all vaccinations prior to hospitalization. In situations with older pets or high-risk animals, we may advise having some laboratory work done to help ensure these animals don't have problems during surgery or post-op care. Our highly skilled veterinarians can perform a wide-range of surgeries for your pet, from standard spay and neuter procedures to more complex surgeries, including orthopedic procedures. Following a surgery, our hospital also provides pain management therapy for your pet. Because of the stress placed on the pet, visitation is limited.

Emergency Services
If an emergency arises, Great Lakes Veterinary Clinic has a veterinarian on-call by pager until 10:00PM.
If you have an after-hours emergency, please call (920) 727-1570. Please keep your phone line clear so the doctor can return your call.  After 10PM our answering service will refer  you to the Fox Valley Animal Referral Center

Microchipping - Home Again
Each year, millions of pets wander from home and many are never found again. If your pet is lost, you can increase the chances of finding your companion by microchipping your pet. Microchipping is a simple, painless procedure that implants a small microchip under your pet's skin. (The microchip is about the size of a grain of rice.) Your pet's information is then registered in a national database, increasing the chances that your pet will return home if lost. For more information on  Home Again please click here.
